Patient and public involvement
The HIV community are the key driver of this programme of research. Patients, public and community HIV groups are involved in the design, delivery and dissemination of all aspects of the research.
Community members are included in the core team for all studies in the programme and budget is included within the grant to support this. A PPI Advisory Group is being established to input into all research aspects to ensure it is ethical, relevant and acceptable from a public perspective.
The Advisory Group includes PPI representatives from community organizations, including the UK CAB and the Changing Perceptions community organization.
Alex Sparrowhawk from Terrence Higgins Trust and UK-CAB leads the PPI work.
We are growing a network of community members, including individual members of the public and representatives from community-based organisations.
If you are interested in working with our team or are interested in joining the NICHE PPI Advisory group you can find all the information in the PPI-advisory-group-info
If you would like to join the group please complete the NICHE PPI Expression of Interest and we will contact you to discuss opportunities to get involved.
We are committed to:
- Involving a wide range of people, and considering various experiences when we design, conduct and share findings about our research
- Sharing our research findings to a wide audience
- Encouraging conversation about our research areas and important topics
